The Recipe

1 onion 1 lb sausagemeat 1 tsp chopped sage 1/4 pt breadcrumbs 2 oz lard
Chop onion coarsely and lightly fry in fat.  Mix sausagemeat, breadcrumbs and sage with cooked onion. Moisten slightly.  Turn into tin of hot fat.  Spread evently and bake for 40 mins.  Serve with a br.sc.

Questions: How many does it serve? As a stand alone, probably 3 people. 6 people if you have it to accompany something else.  What sort of breadcrumbs? I used brown bread crumbs which gives it a good flavour. Lard? No, I used olive oil.  Just enough to coat the bottom of the dish. How hot was the oven? 180 fan assisted – could possibly have cooked it for perhaps 5 minutes more but it was  nice and moist, but still cooked, after 40 minutes. I added some coriander to the top after cooking which added something to the mix.
